Successful Neurosurgery for Chronic Radiculopathy

Treated by Dr. Arun Saroha , Max Hospital, Gurgaon

country: Yemen | Mar 6, 2026

Moayyen Abdul Qader Al-Kahali, a 34-year-old patient from Yemen, had been living with severe neck pain and radiating discomfort in his upper limbs for nearly five years. Seeking a lasting solution, he travelled to India to consult Dr Arun Saroha, Principal Director & Unit Head – Neurosurgery at Max Hospital, Gurugram. After a comprehensive evaluation, including MRI, X-rays, and CT scans, he was diagnosed with pure cervical radiculopathy without neurological deficit. Given his young age, Dr Saroha recommended a four-level cervical laminectomy rather than spinal fusion to reduce the risk of future adjacent segment degeneration.

The procedure successfully relieved nerve compression and eliminated the source of his pain. Today, Moayyen is comfortable, pain-free, and deeply grateful for his recovery and renewed quality of life.
